Abadeen’s Justin Brown Advances $36m Woollahra Project

Abadeen has lodged plans for a $36 million, six storey boutique residential development at 101 to 115 Edgecliff Road, Woollahra, comprising 29 apartments and 50 car parking spaces, marking the next milestone in its expansion across Sydney’s prestigious Eastern Suburbs. The proposal follows the highly successful launch of Henri House in Darlinghurst, now under construction with the crane recently erected on site.

The Woollahra site is proposed to be transformed into a boutique, medium density residential development on a prominent corner block bounded by Australia Lane and Adelaide Street, within walking distance of Woollahra Village and Bondi Junction, combining architectural distinction with the convenience of one of Sydney’s most connected lifestyle hubs.

The proposal responds to the NSW Government’s low and midrise housing reforms, which permit apartment buildings up to six storeys within 400 metres of major centres and transport hubs. In this context, the project aims to deliver well designed medium density housing in a highly accessible location, contributing to local renewal while remaining sensitive to the established character of the area through upper-level setbacks and articulated built form.

Justin Brown, Executive Chairman and Founder of Abadeen, said Woollahra represents a natural progression of the company’s strategy.

“Edgecliff Road is a remarkable site close to Woollahra Village and Bondi Junction and exactly the type of well located, tightly held opportunity we seek.

Our focus has always been to identify, secure and progress sites that deliver enduring value for residents, communities and our investors.”

Abadeen CEO, Joe Tack, said the project reflects the company’s long-term confidence in Sydney’s most desirable precincts.

“Henri House in Darlinghurst has seen a strong market response at launch, and with construction now underway and the crane on site, it has reinforced the depth of demand for premium, design led apartment living in the east.

Woollahra is defined by heritage, lifestyle and connectivity, and the Edgecliff Road proposal presents an opportunity to contribute thoughtfully to the suburb’s evolution, delivering contemporary medium density housing close to transport, retail and open space.”
