Friends snap up an apartment each at Kogarah Central

Tea shop Tea Life business owner, Toby Gospodarczyk and his accountant and friend, Alice Cheng thought Kogarah Central in Sydney’s south represented such good buying, they both decided to buy an apartment each, off the plan within the new residential development which is located at 71-97 Regent Street in the heart of Kogarah.

A first home purchaser, Toby bought a sizeable 159sqm two level, two bedroom plus study apartment plus car space off the plan for $810,000 while his friend, Alice, who first learnt of the development, purchased a two bedroom plus study and courtyard apartment for $800,000, one level below Toby’s.

“It was almost an impulse buy,” Toby joked. “Alice had said, ‘check out this place’ which had only recently launched and I knew of St Trinity (Property Group) as I’d looked at the Vicinity Point Wolli Creek development they were marketing. I’d missed out on buying there so I thought I’d have a look at Kogarah and there was a courtyard apartment which I did like but I knew Alice also wanted it so I left it for her. There was an apartment on two levels, one floor up and I thought, 159sqm for a brand new two storey two bedroom apartment for $810,000 – that’s really good value.”

Toby is currently living in Hurstville and has his tea shop business, Tea Life in Kingsgrove, which sells over 300 individual blends, so he was familiar with Kogarah and south Sydney.

“I grew up on the lower north shore so it was quite a change to move to the south but I really enjoy it now. Hurstville is like a cheaper version of Chatswood.

“I think the time to buy in Hurstville was 5-10 years ago whereas Kogarah is a developing area – there’s further construction of the shopping centre and the new M6 freeway opening will make it easier to get to the city – so I think the timing is right to buy in Kogarah.

“With the hospitals and schools around, you can’t really go wrong,” he said. “There’s very good facilities around and also Brighton just up the road. I’m very happy with my purchase,” he said.

Kogarah in the heart of Sydney’s south located within minutes to the spectacular Brighton Beach and Botany Bay and only 20 mins from the Sydney CBD is one of Sydney’s great buying suburbs with property prices still at relatively affordable prices for first property purchasers, upgraders, downsizers or investors.

St Trinity Property Group’s Sales Director Will Wehbe said Kogarah Central boasts design excellence with two architecturally crafted buildings, which will transform Regent Streets’ current streetscape and mark a new era in the St George property market.

“Further enticing buyers is the convenient lifestyle being so close to excellent amenity that surrounds the development such as shopping, schools, transport and of course the private and public St George Hospitals – it really does represent good buying.”

“The relatively affordable price tag offers first home buyers an entry into the Sydney’s property market while investors can relax knowing their investment is sound and set for strong capital growth prospects,” he said.
