Local property developer, Ellipse Property Group has received approval from the Hills Shire Council to develop its landmark $850 million masterplanned community, Carrington Place, located at 36 Carrington Road, in Castle Hill, approximately 36 minutes’ drive northwest of the Sydney CBD and 16 minutes’ drive from Parramatta.
The prime development site, which is the largest residential project soon to come to market in Castle Hill, was purchased by Ellipse Property in April 2016, and spans approximately 3.2 hectares.
Carrington Place will comprise 771 apartments built across five, eight to 12-storey buildings. Residences will include a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments as well as a variety of larger, premium two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments that truly resemble homes rather than typical apartments. These generously-sized residences are designed to provide ample space for residents’ needs and offer a level of comfort and luxury unrivalled in Castle Hill.
Stunningly designed by award winning architectural firms in a collaboration between Tony Owen Partners together with Stanisic Architects, the buildings have been sensitively designed to immerse with its surrounding natural landscapes while complementing the curve of the tranquil Cattai Creek which runs along the western border of the development.
Uniquely, the precinct will be home to over 20,000 square metres of outdoor recreational space and lush gardens, conceived by landscape architect, Site Image Landscape Architects, making it one of the greenest masterplanned communities in the Hills district.

A key feature of the project will be a one-kilometre boardwalk running the length of the Cattai Creek connecting to Fred Caterson Reserve, a 58-hectare local reserve featuring picnic tables, children’s playgrounds, along with multiple sports facilities.
Ellipse Property has committed to dedicate over 6500m2 of the Cattai Creek back to the community in this masterplan. In addition to this, Ellipse Property has collaborated closely with Council on the revegetation management and landscaping of the Cattai Creek Masterplan spanning the Carrington Place site known locally as ‘The Green Belt’. The area is home to an array of wildlife, flora and fauna, in particular The Powerful Owl, the largest owl on the Australian continent.
The first stage, Atrium, will comprise 151 apartments within one mid-rise eight storey building and offers a range of amenities. Residents will enjoy rooftop recreational spaces that provide breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Atrium will be the gateway to the Carrington Place precinct, embodying the essence of the community’s vision for a sustainable and healthy lifestyle.
Carrington Place Project Director Joseph Chiha emphasized that Carrington Place is envisioned as a multi-staged urban village with a strong connection to nature, prioritizing lifestyle, sustainability, and community. Mr. Chiha stated, “The project seamlessly blends with the surrounding nature and aims to become one of Sydney’s most sustainable urban communities.”
Ellipse Property Founder Sam El Rihani acknowledged that Carrington Place represents a significant milestone for the company, as evidenced by the anticipation surrounding its highly anticipated launch.
Highlighting the community-centric aspects of the Carrington Place project, Mr Rihani expressed, “At Ellipse Property, we believe in creating more than just buildings; we strive to develop thriving communities. With Carrington Place, our goal is to foster a sense of belonging and connection among residents. We envision a place where neighbours become friends, where families create lasting memories, and where the community flourishes together.”
Each tower within the development will achieve a minimum average 6-star NATHERS rating according to the (Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme).

Public Transport & other amenity
Located directly opposite The Hills Showground Metro Station, the development will provide future residents with connectivity to Sydney’s CBD, Chatswood, North Sydney, Macquarie Park and Norwest Business Park. With trains operating every four minutes in peak hour in each direction, residents are offered the highest convenience on Australia’s first driverless railway.
Construction is planned to commence in Q3-2023 with Stage 1 Atrium due for completion in Q3 2025. The entire five-stage precinct is due for completion in 2032. For further information, please visit www.carrington-place.com.au.
