The recent pre-sales launch of 60 luxury coastal apartments on the NSW South Coast has seen ‘extraordinary’ levels of buyer interest from downsizers, sea-changers and employees wanting to work remotely.
More than 100 expressions of interest have been registered in the new 60-apartment Ridgewaters Kiama development in the past three weeks ahead of an official sales launch by St Trinity Property Group, the developer, next month.
St Trinity Property Group Managing Director Nicholas El-Khoury said interest in the highly anticipated, $60 million project confirmed soaring demand for quality seaside residential product along the NSW coastline.
“While current circumstances have combined to make this arguably one of the toughest real estate markets on record, we’re beginning to see a tremendous resurgence of interest and confidence,” Mr El-Khoury said.
“Ridgewaters Kiama is the only development on the South Coast offering exclusively three-bedroom apartments, some with media spaces, designed specifically to cater to this unprecedented demand for flexible sea-change, owner-occupier residences accommodating a range of changing needs.”
“EOIs received confirmed potential buyers are a mix of professional couples hoping to continue working from home, and needing flexible spaces, and downsizers, or empty nesters, seeking luxury finishes, low maintenance living and larger spaces.
“All of them recognising seaside havens such as Kiama as offering both the convenience of being close to major metropolitan areas and facilities with the desirable lifestyle of smaller coastal communities.”
More than 100 EOIs have registered for Ridgewaters Kiama – 40 of which were received in the first week – with interest coming from the surrounding Illawarra and Shellharbour region, well into the Sutherland Shire, Sydney and Canberra markets.
Mr El-Khoury said construction was due to begin in December 2020, with completion expected by March 2022.

Escape to the seaside haven of Kiama
Kiama is an idyllic coastal town offering the laid-back lifestyle of small seaside villages with convenient access to nearby major metropolitan cities.
Located on the south coast rail line and Princes Highway, it sits just 30 minutes south of Wollongong and 90 from Sydney.
Home to less than 7,000 permanent residents, Kiama retains its identity as a coastal community, boasting picturesque tree-lined main streets, heritage homes and an old-school feel. Sitting at its centre is a bustling high street and shopping precinct, with an inviting mixture of cosy cafes, restaurants and boutiques.
Kiama is best known for its natural beauty and attractions, many of them on display along the area’s 22km Kiama Coast Walk – a perfect track for those daily walkers and joggers keen to exercise while soaking up the area’s stunning sights.
Among two of the most popular features are the Kiama Blowhole and Little Blowhole 2, jetting seawater rhythmically skywards. Others include the columns of Cathedral Rock, the Minnamurra River and Gerringong’s spectacular Werri Beach, with multiple whale-watching spots along the way.
Set among rolling green hills and facing the Pacific Ocean, Kiama has long been a surfing destination, featuring both calm waters for swimming and some of the South Coast’s best beach breaks for the more adventurous. Surf Beach, Boneyards and Seven Mile Beach continue to attract a variety of high profile surfing events, including the World Surf League Junior World Championships and Kiama Bodyboard King Pro.
Apartments at Ridgewaters Kiama are expected to officially launch in the next two weeks.
