Lauren Spencer-Salt, a dedicated year five primary school teacher at St Andrew’s Primary School in Quakers Hill, has recently made a significant investment in her future by purchasing a larger-sized two-bedroom apartment in Carrington Place by Sydney-based developer, Ellipse Property at Castle Hill.
This purchase marks her second property acquisition, affirming her commitment to long-term financial security and a comfortable lifestyle.
At 38 years old, Lauren has worked hard towards realising her dream of homeownership. Having grown up in Marayong near Quakers Hill and owning an investment property in Mt Druitt, Lauren’s decision to settle in Castle Hill was deeply rooted in it being an established area, lifestyle and her social circle.
“I do yoga there; my friends are there. It’s where I shop as well. It’s kind of where my lifestyle is and you know, I go to coffee there. It’s just somewhere that I’ve always loved going to,” she says.
The vibrant community, coupled with its proximity to transport links, development of the Showgrounds precinct with new cafes, restaurants and shops coming, made Castle Hill the perfect choice for her forever home.
Lauren has strategically decided to use the equity from her property in Mt Druitt, purchased at the age of 28, to secure her forever home. To facilitate the purchase of her new apartment, she temporarily moved back in with her parents to save more money.
“I meticulously researched various projects in the area, including those in Rouse Hill, Kellyville, Quakers Hill and The Ponds, before ultimately selecting Carrington Place by Ellipse Property.” Situated directly opposite the Hills Showground Station, Carrington Place stood out to Lauren due to its thoughtful design and the developer’s reputation for excellence and reliability.
Luxury interior design and larger-sized apartments
“For me, the interior design was really important,” she explained.
“I wanted a layout where I had a bigger living area, the living space. I wanted open plan living. Every place I was looking at didn’t have that luxe feeling, and the inclusions, the
upgrades, you had to pay on top. The size of the apartments [at other projects] were also too small.
“When I went to Carrington Place, not only were the size of apartments larger (because I bought an oversized two bedroom with a study and a family room), all of the upgrades offered were already included. It had everything I wanted! The Miele appliances – fantastic! All the joinery, the wooden floors. The only addition I wanted was sheer curtains because it brings that light into your interior room. PRD Norwest’s agent, Sagar was happy to request that so I was able to get that as part of my package.”
“The project integrates the natural landscape from Cattai Creek and the area with my vision of a harmonious living environment. I was particularly drawn to the project’s neutral palette and luxurious finishes, which allows buyers to imbue their living spaces with their own style and personality. There was also a huge array of apartment configurations or lay out options to choose from which other surrounding projects just didn’t offer,” she said.
Ellipse Property’s Head of Development, Nigel Farquhar said “it is so nice to see purchasers such as Lauren realising their dream of homeownership at Carrington Place and really buying into the vision we have been creating – living and breathing what Atrium was designed to be.
“We are so delighted to see buyers so happy with the quality, location and service,” he said.
“We believe one of the greatest attributes of Atrium is being part of a master planned community – a sense of neighbourhood that connects well-designed natural internal landscaped amenity with the Cattai Creek future nature walk.
“The project boasts a broad range of unique floor plans, curved architecture with superior quality finishes and many larger-sized apartments that gives people a strong sense of home with the Metro Line on their doorstep”.
“This is a fantastic project and professional team to be part of. We are excited to be able to deliver this project for our purchasers that we can be proud of.”
Design Architect, Tony Owen of Tony Owen Partners, and the visionary behind the project, explained: “With generously sized units, residents enjoy more space. Thoughtfully planned layouts offer a lifestyle similar to that of a house, and even better, as they combine the advantages of a unit with reduced garden maintenance, for instance. At Carrington Place, the majority of units boast considerably larger dimensions compared to typical units.”
Carrington Place’s first residential stage, Atrium, offers 151 apartments within a mid-rise eight-storey building, boasting rooftop recreational spaces with stunning views of the surrounding landscape and Cattai Creek. Additionally, the precinct will feature over 20,000 square metres of recreational space, making it one of the greenest master-planned communities in the Hills district.
Lauren also expressed her excitement about the construction process and her anticipation of moving into her forever home. She commended Ellipse Property for their flexibility and accommodating approach, which made the purchasing journey seamless and reassuring.
“It’s a credit to the entire team – the sales team, the developers, the architects. I have total peace of mind. It is my forever home and I have a real sense of achievement for being able to secure it.”
She eagerly looks forward to becoming part of this thriving neighbourhood and encourages others to look at Castle Hill who are seeking to secure a quality new home. “I would recommend everyone to buy here, including my friends and family because it is an amazing development and location.”
“This place is going to be a huge accomplishment for me and I’ve done it all by myself. In the Sydney property market, it’s not easy and to think to know I’ll have a piece of that that I’ve done myself in the area that I love. I’m going to have a lifestyle and I know all the upgrades, what they are doing at the Showground, cafes and shops and to know that I’m amongst and apart of that. It’s kind of new chapter, a new chapter for Castle Hill. It’s exciting to make it my own. That’s what I’m looking most forward to. I can’t wait to move in,” she said.
Castle Hill in transformation and revitalisation
Castle Hill residents are currently witnessing the gradual and dramatic transformation of the popular Hills suburb into a modern, cosmopolitan and dynamic urban centre.
The Hills Shire Council has a 30-year vision for the redevelopment and revitalisation of the Castle Hill Showground Precinct, located directly opposite the Carrington Place project, planned to create a new 15-hectare entertainment and recreation hub including a variety of community, arts, sporting and leisure activities. The iconic Showground site will become the primary civic space for a new precinct of the future local Hills communities.
Located directly opposite the Hills Showground Metro Station, residents of Carrington Place will have access to Sydney’s CBD, Chatswood, North Sydney, Macquarie Park and Norwest Business Park. With trains operating every four minutes in peak hour in each direction, residents are offered the highest convenience on Australia’s first driverless railway.
Construction is planned to commence imminently with Stage One Atrium due for completion in Q4 2025. The entire five-stage precinct is due for completion in 2032. For further information, please visit www.carrington-place.com.au.
