Mason Davis, an experienced real estate agent, together with his partner Chloe, recently purchased an off-the-plan apartment at Infinity Park in Sydney’s Norwest buoyed by the opening of the North West Metro Line extension (Chatswood to Sydney CBD).
The couple who are also first home buyers, took great comfort in the fact that the project offered purchasers a 10-year structural defects warranty on their apartment following completion, being the only development in Norwest to offer this.
The Davis’ aren’t the only buyers looking to snap up a property around the new state of the art Metro Stations.
PRD Norwest Director David Inkster noted that several buyer types, what he describes as ‘investor-occupiers’ (who invest now and plan to live in the apartment in later years), had been securing apartments based on forecasts of capital growth in properties surrounding Metro Stations.
Mason and Chloe bought a larger 61sqm one-bedroom apartment as an investment that promises both high rental yields and convenience set to attract young professionals looking to live in close proximity to the Metro Line.
Mason and Chloe said their decision to invest in Sydney’s Norwest was driven by the area’s rapid development, excellent amenities, and improved transport links due to the closeness of the Sydney Metro station.
“The extended Sydney Metro Line is a game-changer for the area, providing greater and faster connectivity from Norwest to the CBD,” Mason stated.
“The reduced commute times to the CBD and other major business hubs have made the Norwest highly attractive from an investment perspective. People can now get to Sydney’s CBD in just over 30 minutes, which for those who rent or live here is important for work-life balance.”
Mason and Chloe’s purchase at Infinity Park marks the couple’s entry into the property investment market. “I researched various projects extensively, including those in Kellyville, Bella Vista, and Rouse Hill, but Infinity Park stood out due to its modern design, excellent location, amazing resort-style amenities, and liveability – anyone would want to live here. It’s also the only development in Norwest to offer a 10-year warranty which we found hugely reassuring,” Mason enthuses.
New Metro stations are a key factor for decision makers
Recent data from CBRE and PropTrack found that capital values for apartments on the North West Metro Line from Rouse Hill to Chatswood have outperformed their peer group by five per cent on average over the past decade. They noted this outperformance increasing once the next stage is completed. Shorter commuter times are the key driver.
“Being right next to the Norwest Metro station means people can avoid the daily grind of Sydney traffic and spend more time focusing on their professional and personal life,” Mr Inkster said.
Key takeaways from the research:
- Shorter commuter times. Sydney-siders using the Metro can re-claim an extra hour or more of their day bringing huge social and health benefits.
- Capital Growth. Early evidence is emerging of the outperformance in capital values as new residents appreciate the convenience of the Metro. Over the past decade, suburbs along the metro line have seen a 49% increase in capital value, outperforming suburbs further out by 5%.
- Faster growth and high density. Suburbs along the Metro Line saw population surge by 23% over the past decade, nearly twice the pace of suburbs further out. Half of the residents in near-metro suburbs live in apartments, double the rate of residents in suburbs further out.
- Younger and vibrant. 45% of residents in suburbs along the Metro line stations are Gen Z and Gen Y, higher than suburbs further out.
Norwest’s Transformation and Growth
Residents of Norwest are witnessing the area’s transformation into a vibrant, cosmopolitan hub. The Hills Shire Council has outlined a comprehensive vision for the region’s development, focusing on enhancing community, arts, and leisure activities.
Located next to the North West Metro Station, residents of Infinity Park will benefit from seamless connectivity to Sydney’s CBD, Chatswood, North Sydney, Macquarie Park, and the Norwest Business Park. With trains running every four minutes during peak hours, the convenience of Australia’s first driverless railway is a drawcard for future residents.
“Infinity Park is situated in the most premium part of The Hills and the Metro will drive significant growth by providing quick and convenient access for people traveling in and out of the area.”
“Additionally, the vibrant dining precinct around the lake and the numerous walking trails enhance the appeal of the Norwest community for us,” Mason explained.
Amenities and features of Infinity Park
When completed as early as Q3 2025, Infinity Park, designed by award-winning architects Turner Studio, will comprise 290 apartments across three residential buildings. The project includes a 25-storey landmark tower, Marque, and two five-storey low-rise buildings, Alpha and Omega, offering the most premium two and three-bedroom apartments in the precinct.
A seven-storey commercial tower, Infinity Commercial, situated opposite the residential buildings, will house 95 strata commercial suites, including a 193sqm signature rooftop fine-dining restaurant, Ciel, by acclaimed hatted and Michelin-star trained chef Joshua Mason.
The precinct will also feature extensive lush tropical landscaping and a resort-inspired, tropical lagoon-style swimming pool – the largest in Norwest. The larger style two and three-bedroom apartments will cater to local downsizers and those looking for more space than the average apartment in Sydney.
Robert Tasevski, General Manager of Developer Haitchin Property Group commented, “We are thrilled to welcome Mason and Chloe Davis to Infinity Park. Their investment is a testament to the quality and strategic location of our development. We are committed to delivering a premium residential community that exceeds expectations and sets a new standard for living in Norwest.”
The commercial building is on track to complete in September this year.
