Property developer Iwan Sunito is now the full owner of the 90-room Skye Suites Green Square serviced apartment hotel and the One Global Conference Centre at the award-winning $575 million Infinity Park precinct at Green Square in Sydney’s inner-west.
The change of ownership strengthens the balance sheet of his One Global Capital property development business by $120 million.
The transaction forms part of the asset swap with his ex-business partner, Paul Sathio.
Designed by acclaimed Koichi Takada Architects, the Infinity mixed use precinct is the most remembered of all of Iwan’s previous projects developed under his Crown Group business.
The iconic building defies conventional design with its cutting-edge looped shape layout and has won numerous industry awards named by the Property Council of Australia as one of the World’s Best Projects in 2017.
One Global Capital Chairman and Group CEO Iwan Sunito confirmed the asset swap saying the vision is to embark on a regeneration of the SKYE Suites hotel in creating a new brand and offering.
“We are looking to take the SKYE Suites hotel to the next level, under a new brand ‘One Global Resorts,” he said.
“We are looking to elevate the guest’s experience more along the lines of luxury international hotels. We will embark on developing a new hotel chain beginning with SKYE Suites Green Square, followed by our site at Macquarie Park with more planned.”
“Now as full owner, the asset swap allows these amazing brands and assets to continue to operate at the highest level,” he said.
The newly branded One Global Resorts property at Green Square will be the only hotel outside the airport that is accessible by train. With its own dedicated train station, guests have the ultimate convenience of arriving at the airport and catching a train directly to their hotel. It’s also only one stop away from Central Station in the CBD,” Sunito added.
SKYE SUITES GREEN SQUARE
Comprising 90 premium serviced suites over 20 storeys, SKYE Suites Green Square was designed as an ‘Urban Resort’ defined by distinctive, one-of-a-kind statement architecture.
